The hotel’ s proximity to a gondola station gives easy access throughout the area.

We enjoyed it. Our suite had a sunny balcony. Finally, the hotel's restaurant was unique! There was pool too.

Location, location, location. On site restaurant was good. Rooms are in nice condition. The pool and spa area was great as was the fitness center.
Our refrigerator made a horrendous noise the entire time. When we checked out, the front desk person said, "Yes, we'll have facilities replace that. I'm sure that made it difficult to sleep." Yes, it did. And we'd paid a lot of money to be able to sleep. Some kind of compensation offer would have been nice. We ended up renting some DVDs one day because the wind was so bad. DVDs cost $5?! Really! Again, we paid a lot of money to stay here. One would think DVD rentals would be included. On the day we left, there were some pretty massive ceiling leaks down the main level hallway right off the lobby. The hotel had to use garbage cans to catch the water. Place probably could use some facilities work. One would think such high rates would pay for good upkeep.

We only used the Westin Monach as an overnight stop on our drive from the Napa Valley to Las Vegas. The hotel is really well located, over looking, and literally within a stone's throw, of the beautiful little "Alpine" town of Mammoth Lakes. The Westin is a large hotel, but we found the staff to be friendly and attentive.
Just a note - although the hotel run a shuttle bus every half hour into town, it is literally just a 5 minute walk, but you have to negotiate a series of steps. Not really a negative, just something to be aware of

The hotel is centrally located and adjacent to all major activities and services. The room was beautifully appointed with an outstanding view. The room included a microwave, two-burner cooktop, small refrigerator, and complete stock of cooking and eating utensils. The parking was convenient.
The service orientation of hotel staff varied greatly. Check in - fair. Consierege - fair. Bellman - excellent. Housekeeping - excellent. Restaurant - very poor.
